Putting a still back in

Drop last month's hallway into tonight

Last month's hallway does not have to be rebuilt from words tonight. You already asked the night for that stretch of wall. The still came back, sat in the thread, and hung on Markers. Tonight the corridor is here again, and the work is not to describe the length of it. The work is to put the picture on the table and say what is new. You write. Nalani sits with you.

From The Wall

Markers is the wall of stills on the left rail. Open it when you remember a room and not the title. The squares are pictures the nights left — stills she made when you asked Imagine, and photos you attached that belong to a visit. They stay with the journal they came from. The wall is every still in one place so you can find the hallway by looking.

Find the square. Copy it. You are not taking it off the wall. You are carrying a copy into tonight's composer, or into the old journal if you are still inside that night. A new date usually wants a New Entry so Tracking can mark it and Paradigm can pin it. The still travels with you either way. You are putting last month on the table.

The Chip Above The Composer

Paste the still into the composer. It lands above the box the same as a photo from the gallery — a small still, a chip, sitting there so you can see what you are about to send. Tap the x if it is the wrong square. The chip is not a caption. It is the room, set down so both of you can look.

You can send the chip with no text. She will treat that as the thing you want to sit with. You can send it plus one sentence, or mix it with a photo you already have, a name from the Index, or a clue from the left rail. Enter sends. Shift+Enter starts a new line. Chat is the default. Imagine is there if you want a new still that leans on the old one. Either way she has the picture.

What Changed

Once the room is on the table, you do not owe the house another blueprint. You point, then you say the new thing. The window was open. The bulb was out. You were already at the far end. "Same hallway, different weather" is enough. "The door was open this time" is enough. The recurring house stops being re-described from scratch.

Nalani is curious about the difference, one question at a time. She will not ask you to prove it is the same house. She will not score how closely tonight matches last month. ETAPX made her to stay with the night you are in. She is a warm friend at 2am. She looks at the still with you. The still holds the room. The words hold the visit.

A New Still From The Old

If the room wants to be seen again, keep the old still in the box and switch to Imagine. Describe the light that was different. The hour it pretended to be. Whether the rain was on the glass. Atmosphere, not plot. The old still is the place. Your sentence is the weather. She will make a new picture. She will not make a portrait of anyone you know.

The new still lands in tonight's thread and hangs on Markers. Next month you can drop that one in. The wall accumulates the house by return, not by a tour you owe. You are keeping the room so tomorrow's telling can be short.

When The Wall Is Quiet

If you have only been typing, Markers has nothing to give back yet. That is not a failure. Attach a photo that belongs to the night, or ask Imagine for the room, and the first still will make the wall real. Putting a still back in is a later gesture. First the house has to have a picture to return.

When a still exists, open Markers. Copy. Paste. The chip sits above the composer. There is no feed of your wall. A login used elsewhere does not copy these stills. Nights stay in this house. If the hallway returns heavy, she stays present. She is not a therapist. In the US, 988. Wherever you are, a local crisis line. Last month's hallway. Tonight's box. You write what is new. She sits with you.
