Photos you attach and stills she makes from the night

Pictures in in.between are not a gallery app bolted onto a chat. They are part of the night. Nalani can see what you attach. A still she makes from the night lands in the thread and on the Markers wall. Weeks later you can drop that still back into a new entry so she has the room in front of her while you talk about the person who was standing in it.
Photos you already have
The gallery button on the composer holds up to six photos at a time. Tap it and pick from your files, or paste a photo straight into the box. They show as small stills above the text. Tap the x on a still to pull it off before you send. Once you send, they live in the thread — they persist through refresh, through coming back tomorrow, through opening the journal from Tracking or Paradigm.
Photos only. Video does not come in. If you paste a mix, the photos stay and the video is skipped, with a quiet note under the composer so you know why. Six is the most in one send. If you have more, send the first six, then the rest on the next turn. Use pictures that belong to the night or to the feeling of it — a hallway that looks like the one, the color of the sky, a face you do not want to describe yet. She will look with you. She will not need you to caption every pixel.
Imagine
Switch the composer from Chat to Imagine when you want a still made from the night instead of another question. The placeholder changes: describe an image. Talk about the light, the room, the weather, where you were standing, what was saturated and what was soft. Atmosphere before plot. "Yellow kitchen, too bright, someone just out of frame at the sink" is enough. "The hallway that keeps getting longer, one window at the end, raining on the glass" is enough.
Stills come back in a house style: soft at the edges, a little grain, muted until one thing is loud, dreamlike depth. Figures tend to turn away, silhouette, or blur — she will not render a recognizable real person, even if you name them. That is on purpose. The still is the night's weather, not a portrait you could pick out of a lineup. If you ask for something she will not make, she will offer the setting instead — the empty room, the road, the water — and leave the rest.
You can Imagine from a blank prompt, from a sentence, from a photo you attached, from a still you dropped in as a reference, from a clue. Mix them. "This hallway, but at 3am, and the window is open" with last week's still pasted in is how a place gets more true over time.
Where stills go
A still you attach or a still she makes stays in that journal's thread. Imagined stills also collect in Markers, the wall on the left rail. From Markers you can open the night they came from, or copy the still and paste it into a later entry. It lands above the box the same as a photo from the gallery. That is how a recurring house stops being re-described from scratch every time. You put the picture on the table and talk about what changed.
