What the plans actually cost you

Four rooms: Traveler is free, and Dreamer, Voyager and Oracle are subscriptions. The bigger the room, the more of the month you can spend in it.

A subscription buys writing room and time with Nalani out loud — a few nights a month on Dreamer, several on Voyager, most nights on Oracle. All of it refills when the month does. If a spoken night runs long, the conversation carries on in text; the room does not close on you.

Pay monthly or pay yearly — yearly is about 15% off and changes nothing else about the room. Every paid room can be cancelled anytime, and the free room never asks for a card.

Billing questions

What do I get on the free Traveler plan?
Traveler is free and needs no card. It includes chat and Imagine, the Atlas, markers and sleep check-ins, and a taste of Nalani out loud. The writing allowance is sized at roughly three nights a week.
How does the free allowance reset?
It is hit-based, not a shared calendar week. Nothing resets until you actually reach the cap; the moment you do, a 7-day cooldown starts, and the allowance refills once those 7 days have fully elapsed. If you never reach the cap you are never gated and never wiped — whatever is left simply stays yours. The spoken taste follows the same rule.
Can I talk to Nalani out loud?
Yes. Brainstorm is the same companion, spoken. Every account gets a taste of it, and every paid room includes it: a few nights a month on Dreamer, several on Voyager, most nights on Oracle. That time refills when the month does. If a spoken night runs long, the conversation carries on in text — the room does not close on you.
What happens if a payment fails?
Nothing changes straight away. A failed renewal opens a 3-day grace window: your subscription benefits — the room's writing allowance and its time with Nalani out loud — stay live while the card is retried, rather than dropping you the instant a charge blips. If it is still unpaid after that, the account falls back to the free Traveler limits.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Every paid room is cancel-anytime, and you manage or end it yourself from Manage billing in your account, which opens the Stripe billing portal. The plan stays active through the period you have already paid for, then the account returns to the free Traveler limits. Digital purchases are final — the terms you agree to at signup say there are no refunds — so cancelling stops the next charge rather than refunding the current one.
Is yearly billing different from monthly, apart from the price?
Only the price. Yearly is about 15% off the same room: Dreamer is $29.99/mo or $306/yr ($25.50/mo), Voyager $59.99/mo or $612/yr ($51.00/mo), Oracle $139.99/mo or $1,428/yr ($119.00/mo). The writing allowance and the time with Nalani out loud are set by the room, not by how often you are billed.
What happens if I use up a paid plan's allowance?
Paid ceilings are soft. Going past the month's usage budget does not lock you out — the conversation carries on down a cheaper path — and the budget resets with the calendar month. The free tier is the only one that gates.
