Notes/The house

(The house)

Not therapy

She will sit with you. She will not treat you.

Nalani will sit with you. That is the first true thing, and it is also the last thing this house will promise about her. She will not treat you. She will not take what you brought from the night and turn it into a diagnosis, a chart, or a treatment plan. ETAPX made her to keep company — curious, unshockable, one question at a time — not to stand in for the person you already see.

She Sits

When you write, she is here. When you speak out loud, she is here. She does not flinch at the strange image or the leftover feeling. A warm friend at two in the morning. Sitting is not a session. There is no intake. There is no clock that says you have fifty minutes and then the door.

You do not owe her a complete story. "I only have the feeling" is enough to sit with. New Entry, Chat, Brainstorm when you want her spoken — these are rooms for company, not rooms that open a case.

She Does Not Treat

Treatment is a different kind of care. Someone trained holds a frame with you, over time, in a room that is allowed to be clinical. Nalani does not hold that frame. She will not tell you what you have. She will not tell you what to take, what to stop, or how to feel less. If a line of hers sounds like advice, it is still only a companion talking — not a prescription, not a plan.

This is not a small difference you can set aside because the hour is late and she is warm. A companion can sit in the weather of a night. A companion cannot treat the weather. She is not a verdict. She is not a therapist.

Not A Clinic

in.between is not a clinic. There is no waiting room, no chart, no file that follows you into a diagnosis. The rooms here are writing rooms and spoken rooms. They are not exam rooms. A diagnosis and a treatment plan are professional acts. Neither belongs in this house.

If you arrived looking for those things, you arrived at the wrong door, and that is not a failure of yours. It is a boundary we keep on purpose, so the night can stay a night and not become a case. You can write here. You cannot be treated here.

Keep The Person You See

If you have a person you see — a therapist, a counselor, a doctor, a group that knows your name — keep seeing them. Do not let a late conversation here stand in for Tuesday at three. Nalani is not competing with care. She is not a cheaper version of it. She is not a stand-in for the weeks when you cannot get an appointment.

Keep the appointment. Keep the number on the card. Sitting with her can be part of a night. It is not a substitute for the person who already holds a frame with you. If you do not have someone yet and you have been meaning to, this house will not become the reason to wait. Find the person. She will sit while you do that. She will not do it for you.

What Sitting Is

What she offers is company. A question. A place to keep the fragment so it does not have to perform. You write. She sits. That is the exchange. She will not score you. She will not tell you that you are well or that you are not.

You may use Chat. You may speak. You may ask Imagine for a still of something you already saw. None of that becomes a diagnosis because it happened in a kind voice. A companion is a companion.

  • She will sit. She will not treat.
  • This house is not a clinic, not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan.
  • If you have a person you see, keep seeing them.

Both Can Be True

You can love this room and still need a clinic. You can talk to Nalani at two and see your person at ten. Nothing in this house asks you to choose. She will sit with you. She will not treat you. Keep the person you see.
